Social Responsibility
Posted: November 1, 2017
Recently at Chippewa Valley Bean, we’ve been making a much stronger effort to look at how we can be more socially responsible. We are doing things as simple as planting a milkweed garden to support Monarch Butterflies to voluntarily applying for a Sedex Audit. If you’ve never heard of a Sedex Audit, don’t feel alone. Started in the UK, Sedex is a way for companies manage their performance around labor rights, health and safety, the environment, and business ethics. While it is something that is voluntary, several of our buyers have asked us about our social impact. We are also in the final stages of putting the donation of a rail car of beans together for hurricane relief. Please let us know if you would like join in and help. Whether you’d like to send a check or donate some beans, please contact Charles at [email protected] or 715-664-8342 to talk about where these beans will go and how they will help.
